Is anyone else also a fan of re using the same clothes in one’s closet over and over and over again. Well, I am one of those weird kind who love this idea.
One thing I have noticed in the blogging world is the tendency to wear an item only once for a photo. But in real world, most people re wear their clothes. Thus, I decided to do this series of wearing same outfit pieces in multiple ways. This lets you invest in only a few wardrobe staples and using the same pieces in tons of different ways.
Today’s topic: maxi skirts!
The color white is so versatile that you can rock with it from morning to evening, casual to bold and Mondays to Sundays! An all-white look is much better than an all-black look and is more of a statement. Adding to my white love lately, I bought this white pleated maxi skirt from Myntra. The moment I saw this, I fell in love with the beautiful soft silky silhouette which is so feminine and subtle.
The Desi Girl
Wearing an all-white attire or even the color white in some form in Indian wedding was looked down as a bad choice some years ago. I decide to go against the tide with my super subtle white pleated skirt (which by the way screams western from all angles!). I paired this with a bright gold shimmer blouse and a statement choker. The best part is this lehenga won’t weigh you down, makes it perfect for a hectic wedding season. The silhouette is super feminine with a dash of quirk and screams out of modern & young.
Metallic – Feminine & Edgy
One thing I have learned to do is mixing of fabrics. I love to layer feminine pieces with something edgy, be it a denim jacket or leather jacket. This is what I did here. This leather jacket is a perfect contradiction to my ultra-feminine pleated skirt.
I loved how this entire look turned out to be so naturally edgy. Also, isn’t metallic trend the hardest to carry!
Quote & Bold
To make a fashion statement, the easiest thing is to wear a tee with a quirky logo or one with your favorite slogan. (I wore this cheap slogan tee – “Lipstick is my super power” from Myntra that I bought for only 350 bucks.) This is something I would wear to “not too fancy and not too casual” meetups. A perfect laid back yet chic look.
I have been inspired by the beach and tropical places recently. Seems like I am always day dreaming about my next vacation and that’s what affected my wardrobe too. Also, if it is spring, you cant miss the floral trend. To give a twist, the highlight of my attire is the floral tiara instead of the floral print. This look is inspired from bohemian looks of the celebrities on vacation and the white wedding flower girls. A typical girly side in a put together package ready for a tropical vacation.
I was wearing:
Skirt: Forever 21 on Myntra; Link – Pleated Skirt
White statement tee: Dressberry on Myntra; Link – Statement tee
Silver toned Cami top: Mast & Harbour on Myntra; Link – Silver top
